Argument turned violent, victim says
A Dubai court has charged a Pakistani man with physical assault for biting off a worker's left ear during a brawl in Naif, Khaleej Times reported.
The Pakistani, 28, caused the worker permanent harm when he attacked him during a brawl on June 4, the Dubai Court of First Instance learned through a forensic report.

The victim, 22, said the two had an argument that turned violent. The worker said the man had arranged to install an advertisement board for a customer. According to the victim, the customer paid a down payment of 500 dirhams and was to pay the rest of the amount once the job was completed.
He installed the board and left. The worker and the defendant then had an argument over the payment. The defendant accused the victim of lying about non-payment and insulted him.
The victim recalled losing his temper and "hitting him with a shoe on the head and biting his left arm."
The defendant then bit off the top part of the victim's left ear, according to the latter's testimony to public prosecution investigators.

The worker has suffered permanent damage, according to a report by the general directorate of criminal evidence and criminology. He will have to undergo extended medical treatment.
The court will deliver a verdict on October 29.
