In response to a question about the Omni Group, Wahab said that he was not their representative to respond to questions about them, adding that they [Anwar Majeed and Abdul Ghani Majeed] were out of Pakistan when cases were registered against them. They came and appeared before court from where they were arrested. "This is unprecedented in Pakistan that people are being taken into custody before proving allegations against them," he said.
In response to another question, he said that fake accounts being unearthed these days do not belong to the provincial government. The FIA says that the fake accounts were being operated since the last many years. Where was the FIA when they were being operated and who stopped them from investigating them, he questioned.
To another query, Wahab said that Federal Water Minister Mr Faisal Vawda belonged to Karachi, and so did President Arif Alvi. He urged them to allot an additional 650 MGD of water to Karachi so that the water shortage issue could be resolved.
Wahab said that the Sindh government had started distributing wheat in Thar. He said that as per NADRA record, there were 208,000 families to whom wheat was to be distributed, but when the CM's committee, comprising provincial ministers Saeed Ghani, Imtiaz Shaikh and himself, visited Thar, they found that there were actually 880,000 families.
