Fahad Khawaja, a budding table tennis player and a student of the Engineering University of Peshawar had his cell phone stolen while he was on the way for a practice session.
"Fahad was on his way to Qayum Stadium for practice when he stopped at his friend’s house in Swati Phatak area of Peshawar to exchange university notes," said his father, Nadir Khawaja.

“He was standing outside his friend's house when two unidentified people on a motorcycle snatched his cellphone and pointed a gun at him when he resisted. The snatchers managed to escape,” said Nadir while talking to The Express Tribune. He added that they later approached the Pishtakhara police station and lodged a First Information Report (FIR) of the incident.

“The entire city has been in the grip of street criminals these days and the authorities are not paying any attention," he lamented.
The teenage table tennis player recently represented Pakistan in the Commonwealth Games held in Australia.
Fahad has represented Pakistan in six international tournaments.
