Operation: CDA bulldozes encroachment in F-8 Markaz

Barriers, security check-posts, guardrooms, demolished, barbed wires cleared

ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Tuesday conducted anti encroachment operation along with Building Control Section and removed the illegal construction from the parking and pathways of surrounding areas of Sector F-8 Markaz.

CDA teams came with bulldozers and excavators and back-up of Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICTA) and Islamabad police.

The personnel of the civic authority used heavy machinery to remove illegal constructions and clear the footpaths, passages and parking area for the general public.

According to a CDA statement, it had issued prior notices to encroachers for removing illegal structures voluntarily.

However, once the notice period expired, the authority came into action and launched the anti-encroachment operation against number of corporate giants and public sector entities.

During the operation, guard room established in a container at southern corner, barriers, iron grill erected around public parking area of eastern, northern and southern side, security post at northern corner, advertising boards installed at public parking area were also removed from parking area of a medical centre in Sector F-8 Markaz.

Numerous planters placed at western footpath and advertising board installed on footpath by a diagnostic centre were also removed.

CDA teams removed barbed wires placed along private school building and the footpaths were opened for the access of general public.

The authority, on this occasion, cleared parking area of a cellular company’s head office by removing and demolishing a barrier, two security guard cabins at southern entrance point, barbed wire fence along with planters erected at eastern, southern and northern side, entry point at northern side, two barriers, a guard post at northern side, revolving gate at northern entry point, security clearance point setup, portable washroom setup and security cabin at western corner.

During the operation, the CDA team demolished a shed in parking area and iron grill in front of parking area of the medical centre of a state-owned oil and gas development company.

Similarly, shed erected by a shop on public pathway was removed.

Furthermore, some encroachers removed their encroachment themselves voluntarily including sheds and an illegal kitchen setup by a famous food outlet.

Meanwhile, the management of a filling station voluntarily removed its puncture service tyre shop.
