Karachi faces third power outage in four days
The temperature is likely to increase today (Sunday) and the hot and dry spell is predicted to continue until Wednesday. According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the current hot spell is due to low-pressure area that has developed in upper Sindh. “The south-western winds have stopped and dry winds from the north-west are causing the temperature to rise,” said PMD Director Abdul Rasheed. The humidity level on Saturday morning was 84% and by evening it dropped to 14%.
The sea breeze, he said, would resume during night, however, the day would remain hot and dry until Wednesday. He, however, ruled out the chances of heat wave.
Referring to presence of low wind pressure in the Arabian Sea, he said that it had yet to develop into a cyclone and the chances of it hitting the port city were bleak.
