ICTA proposes four mini-hospitals

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICTA) has prepared a proposal for four mini-hospitals in the city to reduce the burden on existing hospitals. The formal proposal will be forwarded to Ministry of Interior which will take up the matter with relevant stakeholders for further assistance, said official sources. These projects have been proposed at Sihala, Rawat, Bhara Kahu and Tarnol to reduce the load on existing hospitals in the federal capital. According to sources, health centres in rural areas would also be upgraded and compulsory rotation of doctors from big hospitals to rural health centers would be ensured to provide better health services to the people of these areas. Due to the absence of healthcare facilities in remote areas, the two major public hospitals in urban Islamabad remain over-burdened and fail to cater to patients’ needs.
