The number surpasses the facility's own August, 2017 record of 8.23 million. August marks the second month in a row where the airport has crossed the eight million passenger mark, paving the way for a strong third quarter.

The airport's average monthly traffic stands at 7.5 million. The figure is 1.2 million higher than that of its closest rival: London Heathrow.
