Three FC soldiers martyred in Awaran blast

QUETTA: At least three Balochistan Frontier Corps (FC) soldiers were martyred and nine sustained injuries after a planted explosive device targeted FC 112 wing in Peeranadar area of Awaran district on Tuesday.

The soldiers led by FC Colonel Tahir Farooq were busy in a search operation in Awaran’s mountainous area when a local explosive device targeted the soldiers. A heavy contingent of FC and rescue workers rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies and injured to nearby district hospital.

The martyred FC soldiers were identified as Hawaldar Abdul Rehman, Lance Naik Sakhiullah, Lance Naik Shah Muhammad. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. The law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the area and started a search operation for the terrorists involved in the blast.

Meanwhile, two personnel of security forces sustained injuries in a roadside blast in the Tump area of Kech district.

According to security sources, unidentified terrorists planted an explosive device in Tump targeting the convoy of security forces. The vehicle was partially damaged in the attack while two soldiers received minor wounds. They were shifted to district headquarters hospital.
