Blast: Factory owner charged with workers’ deaths

The case was lodged following an explosion at the factory that led to killing of four workers at the factory.

FIR was lodged against 10 men, including a factory owner, on Thursday for keeping explosives without protective procedures at a factory at Lahore Road in Chiniot.


The case was lodged following an explosion at the factory that led to killing of four workers at the factory.

The case was registered on complaint of the Sadar police station house officer. SHO Shahjat Malahi stated that the accused men were responsible for the killings because they had failed to take measures required to keep explosives at the warehouse.

The accused include factory owner Farooq Chudhary, manager Nadeem, assistant manager Muhamad Waseem, admin officer Nawaz, security in charge Abdul Ghafoor and five unidentified men under section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code and 3/5 Explosive Act.

No arrests had been made till the filing of the report. The workers who had lost their lives in the blast were identified as Jaffar Hussain, Mubasshar Hussain, Muhammad Aslam and Nasir Ali.
