Pakistan lacks efforts to eliminate human trafficking
The film starring Freida Pinto, Richa Chadha, Manoj Bajpayee, Anupam Kher and Hollywood star Demi Moore discusses sex-trafficking in India. Survivors of forced prostitution shared their stories with the film-maker Tabrez Noorani and the cast of the film. They introduced them to the red lights areas of Kolkata and were also present on the film set.

According to UNODC, human trafficking is the third largest crime in the world that involves billions of dollars and thousands of victims.

US might cut aid to Pakistan over human trafficking
AAWW founder Ruchira Gupta stated that the film is an authentic tale about the horrors of sex trafficking. She also mentioned that after the screening, the team of Love Sonia will be honoured in a grand reception. AAWW will also present The Last Girl award to an undisclosed recipient at the ceremony. Last year, the award was given to Hollywood star Ashley Judd for speaking up against sex trafficking.
