Lalji’s driver, gunman return

KARACHI: The driver and gunman of businessman Riaz Lalji were recovered on late Monday night from the Super Highway.

The three had been kidnapped on Sunday on way from Karachi Airport. Lalji, a friend of President Asif Ali Zardari, had been recovered on Monday morning when his abductors dropped him off at Hub River Road.

Lalji told the police that kidnappers had blindfolded him and took him to a house in a kachi abadi, adding he said that he could not understand the language they were speaking.

The driver and gunman also told the police they had been blindfolded and could not see the kidnappers.

They said they were pushed out of a moving vehicle on the Super Highway.

Lalji said the kidnappers pushed him out of the car after seeing a police picket on the road.

According to sources, eight to ten suspect have been arrested and are being investigated.
