ATC awards 31 years jail term to militant in Mianwali

The police also seizes explosive material and hand grenade from his possession

MIANWALI: An anti-terrorist court awarded 31 years imprisonment to an accused for possessing explosives in Mianwali on Friday. The prosecution told the court that on March 11, 2018, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) police station, Mianwali conducted a raid at a hide-out in the area and arrested accused, Ziaullah.

The police also seized explosive material and hand grenade from his possession. The accused was affiliated with a banned militant outfit. The police registered case against the accused under terrorism act and presented challan in the court.

During proceedings of the case, the accused was found guilty and was awarded 31 years rigorous imprisonment. The judge also ordered to confiscate the property of the convict. He was shifted to District Jail Mianwali.

ATC convicts two militants in Multan

Earlier, an Anti-Terrorist Court (ATC) awarded an accumulated eight years imprisonment to two militants for possessing arms and explosives in Multan.
