Man tortured, blackmailed by worker in Faisalabad

Victim was lured with the promise of purchasing grains at lowered prices

FAISALABAD: A man was tortured and blackmailed by his worker in Faisalabad on Thursday.

An official from Diji Kot police station told Express News that Abdul Sattar, a resident of Samanabad Mohallah, submitted a complaint at the police station in which he stated that he was engaged in construction business.

He added that he had hired Muhammad Akram to work for him and they both had good relations. He maintained that on the day of the incident, accused Akram met him and said that he had bags of grain at his home in the village and he could give him on reduced rates other than the market price.

The complainant stated that he agreed to purchase the grain and went to the village with the accused. “Akram took me to the fields and asked me to wait for his friends to bring the grain. I sat on a charpoy under the shade of a tree and waited for them,” he told the police.

Abdul Sattar lamented that in the meantime two accomplices of the accused, including Muhammad Nabeel reached the spot and tied him to the charpoy with a rope.  He pointed out the culprits snatched Rs50,000 from him at gun point and took of his clothes.

“They tortured me and took my nude pictures. They asked me to arrange more money and threatened to upload the pictures on social media if I failed to do so,” the victim said.

He maintained that he called his brother Ghulam Fareed from his cellphone and asked him to bring Rs25,000 which were given to the culprits. Abdul Sattar mentioned that after taking the money the accused set him free but continued to blackmail him.
