Two blind dolphins found dead in River Indus

Two blind dolphins were found dead in the River Indus near Sukkur Barrage on Wednesday.

The dead dolphins were reported to be floating near different gates of the Sukkar Barrage for hours. The officials of Wildlife Department reached the spot but left without pulling the dolphins out of the river.

Local residents turned up in huge numbers to get a glimpse of the dead fish.

Deputy Conservator of Wildlife Department Taj Muhammad said that an investigative committee has been formed to look into the matter.

He attributed fishermen to be the prime reason behind the endangered species of dolphins adding that the fish die after being caught in the fisher net.

At least three blind dolphins were reported dead in the past week.
