Woman ‘abducted, gang-raped’ in Faisalabad

Culprit took her to a house where three others committed the offence

FAISALABAD: A woman was allegedly abducted and raped in Faisalabad, Express News reported.

Police said that victim R*, a resident of Railway Colony Mohallah, Nishatabad, lodged a complaint at the police station in which she stated that accused Muhammad Shafique was a friend of her husband. She stated that the accused used to visit their house and promised that he would arrange a job for her in a factory.

The victim narrated that on the day of the incident Shafique called her and said that they had to go to the factory to meet someone for the job. The woman maintained that she reached Lorry Ada where the accused was waiting for her on a motorcycle.

She lamented that the culprit took her to a house where he and his accomplices Muhammad Sarwar, Muhammad Muneer and an unidentified man allegedly gang-raped her.

The victim said that after committing the heinous act, the accused left her at Lorry Ada in an unconscious state. However, area people shifted her to a hospital for treatment.

She stated that the accused were also hurling life threats to her family. She requested the police and authorities to take action against the criminals and provide justice.  She also demanded exemplary punishment for the accused.

Meanwhile, the police have registered a case under Section 376 against the culprits and started an investigation. The police told Express News that no arrests had been made so far. However, efforts were under way to nab the criminals.

Earlier on June 28, 2018, a girl was allegedly repeatedly raped by her father in Chak Jhumra area. The victim’s mother T*, a resident of Chak No 199-RB in Fakharabad, lodged a complaint at the police station in which she stated that she works as a maid in the area, while her husband, A*, works as a labourer at a factory.

She added accused A* had been allegedly sexually abusing their 15-year-old daughter R*for the last seven months while she was alone at the house. The woman stated in her complaint that as a result of the repeated rape, her daughter had become pregnant. She said A* also threatened their daughter of dire consequences if she spoke about her ordeal.

The victim’s mother said that when the news spread in the village, the villagers took the matter to a panchayat. She said the panchayat members visited her home and asked her to keep the matter secret as it could bring a bad name to the family. She said the panchayat also pressurised her not to take action against her accused husband.
