Bollywood actor Sonali Bendre’s husband Goldie Behl has urged people to stop spreading fake news on social media.
Goldie said that people should be more careful and aware of the content they share on social media platforms. He also urged them not to believe in rumours.
He tweeted, “I appeal to all to please use social media more responsibly. Let us not believe in rumours and spread them, unnecessarily hurting the sentiments of those involved. Thank you.”
The producer’s response comes after Indian politician Ram Kadam posted a message saying that Sonali was “no more”. He later clarified his tweet and wrote, “What I heard about Sonali was a rumour. I have been praying for her health and speedy recovery since the last two days.”
Sonali is currently receiving treatment in New York. The famed actor was diagnosed with high-grade cancer in early July.
