Robbery-homicide: Three suspected murderers arrested

During the incident, one robber was injured by gunfire at the hands of his accomplice.

The Mirpur police succeeded in arresting three accused murderers within 12 hours of the robbery-homicide, busting the inter-provincial gang of criminals involved, police told APP on Tuesday.

Giving details of the blatant robbery-murder incident, Mirpur Additional Superintendent of Police Irfan Salim said that the arrested dacoits, Ahsen Ibrar and Khalid, along with their absconding accomplices, gunned down jeweller Adeel Fiyaz during an attempted robbery near his house in sector C/4 at 9:00 pm on Monday.


The ASP said that the accused shot dead Adeel when he resisted them. Later the accused escape from the scene. During the incident, one of the robbers was also injured by gunfire at the hands of his accomplice. Seriously injured, Adeel Fiyaz succumbed to his injuries in a local hospital.

The ASP said that soon after the incident, the police blockaded all the routes leading to Mirpur city and caught Ali Ahsen with the murder weapon, a 30 bore pistol, at Ban Khurma police check post while he was fleeing by rickshaw.

During preliminary investigation, Adeel confessed that he had come, with his accomplice Hafiz Kamran, a resident of Faisalabad, to the rob Raja Nadeem Afzal’s house in Tarnal village in Afzalpu. To accomplish their plan, they traveled to Mirpur city and chased Adeel to rob him in sector C/4. When he resisted, they opened fire on him. Irfan Salim said that police raided Nadeem Afzal’s house on the outskirts of Mirpur and caught the third accomplice, identified as Khalid from Gujrat. The police are looking for after the absconding accused. A case has been registered and further investigations are in progress.
