Tennis: Zubair ousts Pataudi to enter semis

KARACHI: Talha Zubair beat Hamza Pataudi in the men’s singles quarter-finals of the IC Talent Series Ranking Tennis 2011 to move into the semi-finals of the event. Yahya Gabol progressed to the next round after his opponent Gul Hameed retired hurt. Fahad Khan also went through because of the same reason when Salman Ahmed pulled up with the score 6-4, 2-1. The under-15 mixed event saw Talha Bande Ali progress after he beat Nazif Ali 4-6, 7-6, 9-7 in a close encounter while Marib Malik had a walkover against Hasan Farooq when he did not attend the match.
