PK-78 by-polls nomination: Samar Bilour’s papers approved

Haroon’s son Danial represented his mother during scrutiny process

PESHAWAR: The nomination papers for Samar Bilour, the widow of slain ANP leader Haroon, have been accepted for the upcoming by-elections in PK-78. The Returning Officer for the constituency declared filed nomination papers as correct after scrutiny at the office of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in Peshawar.



Haroon’s son Danial represented his mother during the scrutiny process. Later, the RO declared the papers correct. Talking to the media, Danial thanked all the political parties who decided not to field candidates against Samar.



When asked about the response from the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in that regard, he said, that there had been no contact with the party leadership so far. However, he said his party was ready to contest the polls if the PTI decides to field its candidate.
