Nabbed: Five arrested over land grabbing, weapons recovered

Resident informed police that 10 fully armed suspects barged into his property

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police on Saturday arrested five suspected land grabbers when they were trying to occupy the land at gun point.

According to details, Qamarul Islam, a resident of Jhangi Syedan Islamabad, informed Rescue 15 police that Hussain Khan has barged into his property at `Al-Qamar Garden’ Jhangi Syedan along with ten other people armed with weapons.

Following this information, senior police officials assigned the task to Noon police station to ensure arrest of the land grabbers.

Following this task, Station House Officer Inspector Arshad along with his police team raided the area and managed to arrest five suspects after the police operation.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Khurram Shehzad, Aashiq, Naveed Khan, Pervez Khan and Anwaar Ameen.

Moreover, the police team also recovered two Kalashnikovs, one 222 rifle, two 30 bore pistols, one carbine and ammunition from them. Efforts are underway to arrest the absconders and police is hopeful for their arrest.

SSP (Operations) Najeebur Rehman Bugvi has appreciated this performance and directed all police officials to take strict action against those involved in grabbing property of others.

He said that it is the prime responsibility of police is to ensure protection to the lives and property of citizens and this responsibility should be fulfilled at every cost.
