Excise and taxation: Department needs online facility

Computerisation and online facilities are need of the hour that would improve performance of the excise department.

PESHAWAR: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Excise and Taxation Minister Liaqat Shabab underlined the need for connecting his department’s main office with its other offices in parts of K-P through an online facility to enhance the efficiency of the department.

Various officers after discussing different aspects and possibilities of the mega project submitted proposals for its approval. “Computerisation and online facilities are the need of the hour that would improve the performance of the excise department besides increasing efficiency of the staff working in different offices of the province,” said Shabab.

The minister said that this system would not only improve data compilation but would also increase coordination.
