34 absconders surrender to police in RY Khan

SADIQABAD: At least 34 absconding culprits have surrendered to the police in Sadiqbad Tehsil, Express News reported.

Two more incidents of police torture reported

Police said Rahim Yar Khan DPO Muhammad Athar Waheed initiated a campaign through social and print media, saying all those who had fake cases registered against them should appear before him or the circle police to prove their innocence. “This way justice will be ensured to them.”

The campaign yielded positive results and 34 absconding culprits from Machka surrendered to the Circle Police Officer Javed Akhtar and Machka Police Station SHO Muhammad Aslam. They included 23 ‘A’ category and 11 ‘B’ category suspects. Many had been absconding for as many as 10 years.

Meanwhile, people from different walks of life welcomed the DPO’s positive step and said justice would be served ensured in the district   “Those who were who were illegally declared absconders would get a chance to prove their innocence and live a respectable life.”
