PESHAWAR: Peshawar’s University of Agriculture on Tuesday suspended the administrative officer and the security head for physically abusing a student.

The move came after a video showing the admin officer abusing, manhandling and pointing a gun at the student surfaced online. Taking notice of the incident, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's interim Governor Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani ordered an inquiry and directed the varsity to submit a report.

Another student, speaking to The Express Tribune on condition of anonymity, explained the incident occurred when the student was waiting for the admission renewal process at the university’s auditorium hall.

He claimed the administrative official called out another student’s name ignoring the queue. Upon his protest, the varsity official and security head manhandled the student.

The educational institution's administration suspended the two officials and formed a committee to probe the incident. The university also provided relief to the students in the admission process by launching a one-window operation.

syed yasin shah | 5 years ago | Reply We, the entire staff of Commissionerate confess that the incident is a brutality, cruelty and should not be left un responded. However, neither the Express Tribune nor the video leakier thought that there should be a little bit background of the incident. (what is this... student, being beaten and shouting etc etc. ) no background. only one sided clip.
