SARGODHA: At least seven people were killed and six others injured in separate incidents in Sargodha on Monday.

Police said that 22-year-old Muhammad Mukhtar, a resident of Sargodha City, was travelling on a motorcycle on Sargodha-Shahpur Road with his mother Haleema Bibi. Their two-wheeler ran into a tree near Chak Gondal, killing mother and son on the spot.

In a separate incident, a collision between two bikes near Chak 51/SB killed Sultan, while injuring Wasim and Ahmed. The injured were shifted to the DHQ Hospital.

Further, 45-year-old Haq Nawaz, a resident of Bhalwal, was travelling on Sargodha-Bhalwal Road when he was intercepted by unknown people near Chak 18/NB. The unidentified assailants shot him and tossed his body into a canal.

In another incident, Muhammad Azam was shot dead while four other sustained injuries over a family dispute. The injured, identified as Asgha, Touqeer, Waqas, and Rafaqat Ali, were shifted to the DHQ hospital.

Rescue 1122 sources said that 13-year-old Muhammad Tanveer was standing near the edge of Chashma-Jhelum Canal when he lost his balance and fell into the canal, drowning in the process.

Separately, a two-year-old boy named Danish drowned in a water course near his hometown.
