The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday summoned former caretaker prime minister Justice (retd) Nasirul Mulk's lawyer over expenses incurred during the former interim premier's trip to Swat.

A petition, filed by Barrister Javed Iqbal Jaffery, was earlier submitted in court to recover "millions" spent on Mulk's trip to the scenic mountain region. The petition was heard by Justice Mamun Rashid Sheikh.

The court during the hearing also instructed the petitioner to provide proof in the next hearing.

PM Mulk recommends August 13 for first NA session

Earlier, the petitioner, in his arguments had also stated that Mulk used protocol for his personal affairs and overstepped his authority and claimed the former interim prime minister caused a loss to the national treasury by using a convoy of 22 vehicles during his visit to Swat.

The court summoned the respondent's lawyer in the next hearing scheduled for August 30.
