PESHAWAR: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mehmood Khan Sunday took notice of excessive power outages and unannounced load-shedding in the province, especially in the Malakand division, and summoned the head of the provincial power utility.

Mehmood directed the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) chief to improve electricity delivery and distribution system and to take steps to overcome power load management. However, electricity delivery and distribution should be in accordance to the right of the province and declared formula.

On the other hand, the chief minister assured PESCO that the provincial government will help in upgrading the power system of the province, including electricity distribution and delivery.

Nonetheless, PESCO officials told the chief minister that the province is facing energy crises because of over-loading and faults in the system. The province has been facing load-shedding for three days.
