Police said Advocate Muhammad Bilal poured petrol over him and tried to end his life as he was distraught for not being appointed as a district prosecutor despite having proper qualifications.

He claimed that he fulfilled the required qualifications for the post.

“I have been working hard and fulfilled all requirements but despite that, I was rejected. I tried to kill myself as I had no option. I want justice.”

Later, lawyers took him to Anarkali police station where an FIR was registered against him under Section 325,511 of Pakistan Penal Code.
