PFC delegates to attend shanghai fair

ISLAMABAD: A 10-member delegation of the Pakistan Furniture Council (PFC) will participate in the inter-textile Shanghai fair, starting from August 27 in Shanghai, China, to showcase products in order to attract foreign buyers and investors. PFC Chief Mian Kashif Ashfaq, while presiding the board of directors’ meeting Friday, said the fair would provide an opportunity to explore new avenues by sharing its vision, expertise for the formulation of future policies, economic studies, sectoral and project-specific reports, besides promotional efforts. According to a press release issued by the PFC, Ashfaq said the trade increased despite the fact that Pakistani businessmen used only 3.3% of the total tariff lines. He said Pakistan could only export in 253 tariff lines out of the total 7,550, where average export value was $500.
