Young policeman allegedly commits suicide

Body found at Benazirabad police station

HYDERABAD: A body of young policeman was found at a police station in Benazirabad district on Friday. Police initially termed the death of the 25-year-old constable a suicide.

The incident took place at the Punhal Chandio police station in Sakrand taluka. The deceased's father told the local media that his son had a squabble with a policeman at the police station Thursday night over the scheduling of his duty. "Today, he left home for the duty and later we were informed that he has committed suicide," the father said.



SHO Ghulam Ali Zardari said an investigation has started. However, he said the initial investigation suggested that it was a suicide case.

According to him, he and the policeman with whom the deceased had an argument were both not present at the station when the incident happened. The body was taken to Peoples Medical University Hospital where his postmortem was conducted before the body was handed over to the family for burial.
