KARACHI: A man was arrested on Sunday from Ayesha Manzil for raping a five-year-old Hindu girl in the Joharabad police station precincts. Police later identified the accused as Roshan, son of Palaj. They said that the accused was arrested on the information provided by the victim’s father. SHO Joharabad Ishtiaq Ghouri told The Express Tribune that the girl, M, was allegedly raped by “several men” on February 26 this year in a locality in the Gulberg Town after being kidnapped from her home. The girl was later found by her mother some distance from her home. According to Ghouri, there were other people involved, but Roshan was the main accused because he had raped the girl first. He said that both the alleged rapist and the victim belonged to the Hindu community.
