Found: Body of a missing labourer recovered

Body was recovered with help of victim's mobile phone data.

The police have solved the mystery shrouding the disappearance of a young labourers early this month.


The police recovered the body of Tahir Abbas from a jungle and arrested four suspects — Naveed, Shafiqur Rehman, Aurang Zeb and Tariq Khan —with the help of the victim’s mobile phone data.

During interrogation, they confessed to burying the body of Tahir Abbas in a jungle in Takhat Pari area after strangulating him. According to police, Ghulam Abbas, a resident of Sahiwal complained to the Rawat Police on May 1 that his younger brother Tahir Abbas had gone missing. The 22-year-old man was working as a labourer in phase-VIII of Rawat.

The Rawat Station House Officer (SHO) Inspector Malik Yousuf during investigation took the four suspects into custody with the help of the cellphone data of the victim.

The police said the motive behind the murder could be established after the autopsy and medical report on the body.
