Peshawar-Chitral road closed at Darosh

The closure is to avoid accidents due to heavy flood in streams and water channels triggered by torrential rains

PESHAWAR: Road connecting Chitral with Peshawar has been closed for all traffic near Darosh to avoid any untoward incident due to heavy flood in streams and water channels triggered because of torrential rain last night. There was a massive traffic jam on Chitral-Peshawer road and the officials of National Highway Authority were trying hard to open the road for traffic closed due to heavy flood, APP correspondent in Chitral said. There were also reports that four people were badly injured in different road mishaps including motorcar and motorbike collision due to slippery road and another accident of two cars colliding head-on due to low visibility in downpour. The injured were shifted to District Headquarter Hospital.
