LAHORE: The Pakistan-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) has entered into long-term collaboration with the Sichuan International Chamber of Commerce as it has agreed to jointly establish Pakistan-Chengdu Economic and Trade Centre.

The establishment of the trade centre is aimed at promoting joint business activities between China and Pakistan, especially for the establishment of Special Economic Zones in Pakistan under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

In this connection, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed as the final step in efforts initiated by a trade delegation of the PCJCCI during a visit to China.

PCJCCI President SM Naveed and Sichuan International Chamber of Commerce President Ma Zhijun signed the MoU.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Naveed said the support initiative would benefit both the countries with the development of trade relations and all-round cooperation.

He said Pakistan-Chengdu Economic and Trade Centre would prove to be a strong organ for promoting economic, commercial, financial and industrial collaboration between Pakistan and western China.
