ACE arrests suspect from courtroom in Rawalpindi

The accused allegedly involved in fraudently transferring the inherited land

RAWALPINDI: Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) on Wednesday arrested Sohail Maqbool a former tehsildar of Rawalpindi Settlement who was terminated from service for illegally tampering with lands record so as to transfer the property of a landowner.

Corruption: ACE catches small fry

According to ACE Rawalpindi Region Director Arif Raheem, the accused allegedly involved in fraudently transferring the inherited land of a complainant Mirza Mohammad.

Raheem informed that ACE Circle Officer Asghar Chindia arrested Sohail Maqbool from the courtroom after dismissal of pre-arrest bail. Justice Ibadur Rehman Lodhi during last hearing observed that the notorious tehsildar has been escaping from the cases by misusing pre-arrest bails.

Rawalpindi Division: ACE takes up 29 cases

An FIR was registered with Anti-Corruption Police Station on the complaint of Mirza in May against Maqbool, Gardawar Qazi Sajjad and Patwari Ilyas and landlords were Fazal Inam Sabirand Fazal Arshad.
