Utility stores slash prices on 133 items

The prices have been reduced by as much as 5.38%.

The Utility Stores Corporation (USC) has slashed the prices of 133 basic items by about 5.38 per cent.


USC will now sell a 20 kg bag of wheat flour at Rs20 less than the market rate,  and cooking oil and ghee at Rs8 per kg less than the market rate.

Sugar is already discounted by Rs10-15 per kg, when compared to the open market rates.

The corporation has also reduced the price of dal masoor from Rs92 to Rs85 per kg, dal channa from Rs66 to Rs64, masoor whole from Rs82 to Rs75, moong washed from Rs144 to Rs138, mash whole from Rs132 to Rs120 per kg, and black gram from Rs65 to Rs60 per kg. Prices of other daily-use items were also reduced.

The decision was made during the visit of Senior Federal Minister for Industries and Defence Production Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, President Pakistan Muslim League-Q Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, and Advisor to Prime Minister on Industries and Production Raja Basharat to the headoffice of USC on Thursday.
