QUETTA: Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Chairman Mehmood Khan Achakzai has rejected the election results of 12 polling stations for NA-263 Qilla Abdullah constituency, alleging ballot rigging took place.

“The Election Commission of Pakistan has completely failed in conducting free and fair elections in Pakistan,” said Achakzai while addressing a news conference at the Quetta Press Club on Friday.

The PkMAP chief said, “We had directly informed the ECP secretary about rigging in elections, but no one was able to address our concerns or take action against the people involved.”

Alleging that security agencies cast bogus votes in Qilla Abdullah, Achakzai said, “Two major intelligence agencies of our country placed two of their personnel outside and inside the polling stations to cast votes for their favourite candidates.

“An independent investigation must be launched. If my allegations emerge as false, I will accept the results, but if proven true, then we will decide the future course of action.”

He announced that his party would participate in the All Parties Conference (APC) called by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman against alleged rigging in elections.

On Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), the PkMAP chairman and former MNA said, “We don’t know whether the cow was brought from Bhag Nari or elsewhere, but now I am hearing that their president lost his National Assembly seat.

“From day one, we all knew that intelligence agencies were behind the launching of BAP in Balochistan, and the same players were involved in ousting of an elected government in Balochistan back in January.”

Mocking former home minister Sarfraz Bugti, the PkMAP chief said, “Unfortunately the aliens’ cheetah Sarfraz also lost his seat from Dera Bugti, while not only in Dera Bugti, but across the province results were handed over to candidates on white paper instead of Form 45.”
On relations with former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, he said, “I will visit Adiala Jail to meet Sharif and his daughter because we are close friends.”

To a query whether he would accept Imran Khan as prime minister, Achakzai said, “When I have rejected the elections, then how can I accept Imran as the PM of Pakistan.

“Pashtuns, Baloch, Punjabis, Sindhis and all others living in Balochistan have equal rights and we will defend the rights of all the people living with us on our soil,” said Achakzai, adding that Pakistan’s can’t move forward unless all institutions work within their jurisdictions.
