Children of traffic wardens honoured

At least 15 secured 1,000 marks in this year’s matriculation exams

LAHORE: At least 15 children, whose parents are traffic wardens, have secured 1,000 marks in the matriculation examination held this year. This was revealed during a ceremony held at Traffic Headquarters Qurban Lines to recognise the achievements of the children on Friday.



Those who secured outstanding results included Nimra Amin, daughter of Traffic Warden Iftikhar, who secured 1,073 marks. Meanwhile, Zohra Aman, daughter of Traffic Inspector Amanullah, secured 1,072 marks and Amina Tabassum, the daughter of a traffic constable, secured 1,051 marks. Irish Hassan, the daughter of a head constable, secured 1,047 marks while Umme Kulsoom, the daughter of Police Constable Muhammad Asif secured 1,037 marks. Amna Shahzad, the daughter of DSP Traffic Shahzad Khan, secured 1,017 marks and Saira, the daughter of a traffic constable, secured 1,010 marks.

The ceremony was attended by Capital City Police Officer BA Nasir, Punjab Traffic Headquarters DIG Shahzada Sultan, Chief Traffic Police Officer Liaqat Malik, SP Traffic Sadar Sardar Asif, SP City Traffic Asif Siddique, DSP Shahzad Khan, including all the circle officers and senior traffic wardens.

CCPO BA Nasir, DIG Traffic Headquarters and CTO gave Rs1,500 to each of the kids, also handing out, commendatory certificates, flowers and other gifts. They also distributed appreciation certificates to the parents.

Speaking on the occasion, CCPO BA Nasir congratulated the children and their parents and acknowledged their hard work. He stated that the children have not only made their parents proud but have also made the department proud.

“Police officials sacrifice their personal life and desires by performing their duties for the welfare and the protection of citizens and the country. By doing so, they are unable to give their children the proper time that they require,” he expressed.

He saluted the children and the spouses for doing well under these extreme circumstances.



CTO Liaqat Malik maintained that the purpose of organising such events was to encourage the children and their parents. He added that City Traffic Police Lahore (CTPL) will provide monetary assistance as well guidance to such children. He expressed his sincere wishes for their bright future and wished that they will continue studying and working hard. The children and their parents declared the move a morale booster. They said that they felt proud, flattered, encouraged and happy because of the ceremony that was organised in their honour.
