An Arab man has been charged with the theft of  8,000 dirham (approximately Rs270,000) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the treatment of his ailing father back home.

According to Khaleej Times, the 'culprit' has stolen the amount from a salon before flying back to his country.

Authorities said that the man has confessed to his crime during interrogation. The accused gave in a receipt where it was revealed that he gave back the money to the salon own after his return.

Moreover, the motive behind stealing the amount is the unexpected illness of his father. He also claimed to have informed a colleague that he was taking the money on an emergency basis and would return it.

The defendant also told local police of how he was surprised that the salon's owner filed a complaint in this regard.

A witness told the authorities that the suspect returned the amount immediately after returning from leave as the owner of the salon was  unaware of it.

He added that the accused did not steal the money and took it as a loan only.

The witness also submitted a waiver from the owner of the hairdresser shop after understanding circumstances in which he had taken the amount in the first place.
