MANCHESTER: Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed the Premier League champions are close to signing Atletico Madrid goal-keeper David De Gea. “We’ve been working on it for quite a while,” said Ferguson. “We identified him as one we should go for. He’s young, very quick, good composure, presence and an outstanding replacement for van der Sar.” The Dutchman will play his last game for Manchester United on Saturday when the Premier League champions take on Barcelona in the Champions League final at Wembley.
