As politicians pursue their constituents ahead of the general elections, Sheikh Rasheed showed off a unique trick to woo voters. The Awami Muslim League (AML) chief on Thursday posted a video of him making naan at a roadside tandoor.
“I have always enjoyed being around the people, doing what they do,” he said in a tweet.
Known for his antics inside the Parliament and outside, Rasheed has successfully run a one-man show since the 1980s. He is an electable who manages to stay in the limelight by aligning with those who matter.
Last year, he made headlines after a dramatic escape from Lal Haveli, after it was raided and sealed by the police. Tricking the security officials, Rasheed made his way through narrow streets, addressed party workers and evaded law enforcers. Sitting atop a vehicle, the AML chief lit a cigar before addressing his workers at Rawalpindi’s Committee Chowk on October 28, 2017.
