SC staffers pledge funds for construction of dams

The decision comes following CJP's announcement to donate Rs1million to the fund from his personal account

ISLAMABAD: After the Pakistan Army, employees of the Supreme Court have now announced to contribute to the funds earmarked for the construction Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand dams.

A statement from the Supreme Court stated that all the officers (BS-16 and above) will donate two days’ salary, and the staff (BS-2o to 15) a days’ salary of the current month for the construction of the dams.

CJP Mian Saqib Nisar kick-started the initiative by donating Rs1 million for the two dams and urged all institutions and individuals to play their due role in their construction to defeat water scarcity in the country.

Director General ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor also announced that officers of the army, navy and air force will donate two days' pay for the cause while soldiers will pitch in with a day’s salary.

Armed forces to make donations for construction of Diamer-Bhasha, Mohmand dams

The State Bank of Pakistan announced yesterday that accounts dedicated to collecting donations for the Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand dam are now operational across the world at the respective bank branches in order to collect funds from overseas Pakistanis as well.
