Wheat purchase points: Farmers rally against closure

MULTAN: Farmers are facing difficulties after the government has stopped buying wheat in southern Punjab.

Wheat procurement centres in Multan, Khanewal, Bahawalpur and Kabirwala have reported that wheat purchasing has stopped in the areas altogether.

Due to the situation, several farmers are facing severe problems and many have taken to the streets in protest. Hundreds of farmers are visiting procurement centres but most centres have now been closed.
