
An Additional Sessions Judge Malik Shabbir Hussain ordered that a case be registered against a medical superintendent (MS), medical officer (MO), sub-inspector (SI) and two ASIs for washing evidence in a murder case.
Muhammad Usman, in his petition said that THQ hospital Shahpur MS Dr Muhammad Shabbir, MO Dr Muhammad Azhar, Station House Officer Sattar Gul, SI Muhammad Iqbal and ASIs Dost Muhammad and Mumtaz forged and tampered with evidence. The accused had changed the statement of key witness Umer Draz and washed evidence at the crime scene, the petition said.
The judge said that the court said that the RPO Commandant Police Lahore had declared the MS, MO and police officers responsible for removing evidence in his investigation report and recommended action against them. On October 2009, Muhammad Afzal and Sher Muhammad allegedly injured Umer Draz of village Bakkhar Bar, tehsil Shahpur, with rods and daggers. He was referred to Lahore hospital where he died a few days later.
