Leaves of WASA staff cancelled

Officers are directed to take precautionary measures to provide relief to those living in slums

FAISALABAD: Leaves of Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) officers and staff have been cancelled in order to deal with flood-related emergencies during the monsoon and rainy season, said a spokesperson for the local administration on Wednesday.



The officers for the departments concerned have also been directed to take all sorts of precautionary measures to provide relief to those living in slums, in the case of an emergency. The municipal services staff will remain active, along with necessary equipment and machinery in order to maintain the cleanliness of roads. The machinery will also be kept operational during the rainy days, he stated.
