The park was established approximately ten years ago as a recreational spot for women.
It was previously under the supervision of MDA who was collecting rent from these shops.
PHA had been trying to gain possession of the shops since 2016. However, they only just managed to complete this feat.

Currently, efforts are underway to auction these properties on July 16, said PHA spokesperson Jalaluddin.
This will also increase the department’s revenue, he maintained.
In addition to this, the annual auction for renting a shop located in Jalal Masjid Park will also be conducted on the same date, including the auction of four handicraft stalls.
