RAWALPINDI: Authorities on Thursday foiled an attempt to supply harmful, chemical-induced milk to local communities. The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) on Thursday confiscated 6,000 litres of contaminated milk and drained it into the sewer.

Drivers of two milk-carrying vehicles were barred from entering the cantonment board for bringing the chemical-infused milk from Sargodha.

According to details, RCB Food Department Chief Central Secretary Waris Bhatti had stopped three trucks, loaded with milk cartons, from entering into the cantonment until the goods were thoroughly inspected.

When the milk loaded on the two cars was inspected, it was found that chemicals had been mixed into it.

The milk was immediately dumped into a sewerage drain.

Poisonous milk in large quantities was being supplied to Noor Mill Naseerabad areas, explained officials.
