Two killed in road crashes
Police say that teams from irrigation department conducted raids at Gullah Pur, Matela, and adjoining areas

At least two people were killed while another was injured in road accidents in Jauhrabad and Kamar Masaani police limits on Wednesday. The police said that Omar Daraz, a resident of Jabbi area, was travelling on a motorcycle when a recklessly driven truck hit him near Lillah Interchange. As a result of the collision, he died on the spot while the driver fled the scene. Meanwhile, a speeding dumper crushed a motorcyclist Sajawal Khan to death and injured Riaz Khan on Mianwali Road. The police registered separate cases and started investigations. Meanwhile, the irrigation department arrested 14 people for stealing water from canals. The police said that teams from the irrigation department had conducted raids at Gullah Pur, Matela, and adjoining areas and arrested nine farmers involved in water theft. On the reports issued by the irrigation authorities, police registered separate cases against Afzal, Allah Bukhash, Mumtaz, Zafar, Shahbaz and others.
