QUETTA: The Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) has awarded 200 tickets to candidates throughout Balochistan contesting for the National Assembly and the provincial assembly seats.

This was stated by BAP President Jam Kamal during a news conference at the Quetta Press Club on Sunday. He was flanked by BAP General Secretary Manzoor Ahmed Kakar, Senator Anwarul Haq Kakar, leaders Chaudhry Shabbir, Javed Ahmed Khan and others.
Before the press briefing, the Pakistan Workers Party pledged their allegiance to BAP in the upcoming general elections.

BAP says no one did anything for Balochistan

Kamal said, "Many political leaders in Balochistan wanted to contest general elections on BAP’s ticket due to its growing popularity, but we issued tickets to only those candidates who have public support and influence."

Kamal said, “Many political parties fear that BAP - a single party with majority - will form the Balochistan government.”
He said, "BAP was formed with the vision to impose good governance in the province and provide people their due rights."

PTI says BAP has no political future in Balochistan

Kamal said that BAP wanted to utilise provincial resources for the development of Balochistan.

On BAP's liaison with other parties, Kamal said, “We have formed a committee which is contacting other political parties to take them on board for a coalition government in Balochistan.”

To a query regarding political parties' election campaign, he said, “Today, we can't lure people of Balochistan by using tribal influence. The masses here will vote on performance because we can't approach the public unless we deliver development and basic facilities to them."

Kamal said BAP leaders had already commenced political activities in all areas of Balochistan and people had shown full support.
