With the clock ticking to general elections, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Jamal Khan Leghari’s attempt to woo voters backfired when held accountable for his performance.

A viral footage shows the chief of Leghari tribe in Dera Ghazi Khan being recieved by irked voters as he visits the constituency he represented in Punjab Assembly for the last five years.

A PML-N candidate for NA-192, Leghari was stopped by local residents who expressed surprise at seeing their elected representative’s face for the first time in five years. “Where have you been for the last five years?” a man can be heard asking the former lawmaker.

Leghari replied he was in the neighbourhood to pay condolences. “There have been many deaths in the last five years, where were you then?” asked locals. “Have you ever wondered why your constituents are upset?”

Ignoring their question, the son of former president Farooq Leghari can be heard boasting about the construction of a road in the constituency.  “Do you know who built this 45km road?”

The man replied by phrasing his own question. “Are you here to question us or answer us?”

Annoyed by the voters’ inquiries, Leghari said: "You are showing so much attitude for your one mere vote?"

He then walked off, leaving the constituents in bedlam.
