Seven, including Levies personnel, killed during two days of Eid in Balochistan

QUETTA: Eid, whether it is Eidul Fitr or Eidul Azha, is an occasion of spreading peace and forgiving anyone for their mistakes. Unfortunately in Balochistan, the occasion was tainted by bloodshed as at least seven people, including a Balochistan Levies force personnel, were killed in five different incidents of firing in Quetta, Mastung, Qilla Saifullah, Awaran and Khuzdar during the Eid days.

According to details, a Balochistan Levies personnel and two of his friends were martyred on the first day of Eid – Saturday - after coming under fire from unidentified assailants in the Killi Bangulzai area of the provincial capital.

The police officers said that armed men, riding a motorcycle, opened fire on a Balochistan Levies vehicle in the Killi Bangulzai area on Sariab Road. As a result, a Levies force personnel and two of his friends died on the spot.
The deceased were returning in a vehicle after offering Eid prayers when they were attacked, said the police officers.

Targeted attack: Two Christians killed, three hurt in Quetta shooting

A large contingent of law enforcement agencies personnel reached the site and shifted the bodies to the Civil Hospital, Quetta for medico-legal formalities.
The deceased were identified as Levies force personnel Anwar Jan and two brothers – Najeebullah and Habibullah. The police has started investigation.
The funeral prayers of the personnel were offered at the Commissioner Office, Quetta which was attended by caretaker Minister for Home Inayatullah Kasi, Quetta Commissioner Javed Anwar Shahwani, Home Secretary Ghulam Ali Baloch, Quetta Deputy Commissioner Farrukh Atique and a large number of security officials.
Later, all the three bodies were shifted to Sibi for burial.

Man killed in Mastung

A man was gunned down in the Mastung district on Sunday.
According to the Balochistan Levies, a man was sitting outside a shop in the Khad Kucha area of Mastung district when unknown armed men opened fire on him. As a result, he died on the spot.

Target killer held in Quetta raid confesses to kill streak

The body was shifted to the district headquarters hospital for an autopsy. The deceased was identified as Hazar Khan. According to the Balochistan Levies, the reason for the killing was an old enmity.
A case has been registered against unknown persons and investigation is under way.

Another gunned down in Awaran
A man was gunned down in the Rehmat Bazaar area of Awaran district on Sunday.
According to the Balochistan Police, unidentified armed men shot and killed a man. Balochistan police personnel rushed to the spot soon after the incident and shifted the body to a nearby hospital for autopsy. The deceased was identified as Gull Mohammad.

Six labourers shot dead in Balochistan

Police said the reason behind the killing “can only be known after completing the investigation, which is under way”.

Unidentified armed man gunned down a man in the Qilla Saifullah district on Sunday.
According the Balochistan Levies personnel, armed men gunned down Mullah Noorul Haq.
They said the motive behind the killing was being investigated.

One more loses life in Khuzdar
Unidentified armed men gunned down a man in the Garisha area of Khuzdar district on Sunday.
According to the Balochistan Levies, armed men shot dead a man and managed to flee the scene. The body was shifted to the district headquarters hospital where the victim was identified as Ahmed Jan.
The motive behind the killing could not be known as investigation is under way.
